• Extension to the second floor of an early 20th-century row house, whose exterior walls were all constructed of poured concrete.  Modest in scope, the objective was simply to extend an existing bedroom to include the area of an existing sunroom that had once been an exterior balcony.  The concept was built around the singular idea of a full-width operable window filling the wall at the far end of the extended room.  Beyond this window, the face of the nearby escarpment appears as though viewed through a telephoto lens.
