A piece of furniture designed to hold bicycles upright in the entry hall of a 1913 rowhouse.  Dark-stained red oak struts match the colour and sizes of the existing oak millwork.  The idea derives from the 1903 intersection of bicycles and biplanes.  At the same time it invokes images of  19^th century looms and other mechanical devices to further develop the theme of “motion at rest” .
